Our Programs

HOPE Host Home Program

Community Transitional Housing

The HOPE Host Home program connects compassionate community members who have extra space with individuals or families in need of transitional housing for up to 90 days. Providing hosts with a stipend for financial support & dedicated case management for guests, the program ensures a safe and supportive environment for asylum seekers as they navigate life in America. Cultivating cultural connections, providing wrap-around services and resource navigation, this program facilitates integration and belonging for new immigrants in a transformative journey toward fulfilling the American dream.

*With funding support, our Host Home program can be adapted to wide variety of populations in need of transitional housing including response to people struggling with recent job loss, veterans, people seeking local medical treatment, adults aged-out of foster care, & victims of natural disasters like floods and wildfires.

Pathways to HOPE Sessions

Pro Se Asylum, Court Letters, EAD Support & Family Protection Plans

Hope Has No Borders provides ongoing virtual and in-person (Denver area) pro se asylum support for Spanish-speakers across the United States. While we do not provide legal advice, we assist individuals in completing the latest version of the pro se asylum application. We believe no one should be denied the opportunity to file for asylum due to cost or limited access to formal legal aid.

We ensure that applications are correctly submitted and provide follow-up support, including guidance on address updates, venue changes, and future work authorization requests.

As part of the Pathways Program, we also offer a virtual-only EAD application service for individuals who have 150 days or more on an active asylum clock, along with support for obtaining court letters, employment readiness workshops, and translation of English/Spanish family preparedness documents in the event of family separation by ICE or other immigration authorities.

All of our services are donation-based and carried out by experienced bilingual contractors who are knowledgeable in immigration policy and processes, ensuring maximum impact for those who need it most. We suggest a $25 donation for pro se asylum and EAD applications and a $10–$20 donation for other services in this program pathway.

HOPE Community Services

Community Service Partnerships

Hope Has No Borders is dedicated to empowering & integrating immigrants in Colorado through community service projects. This program not only provides donation-based gifts as a token of appreciation for volunteerism, but also offers valuable real-life experience, education around cultural expectations, and enhances resumes and work readiness. By fostering local partnerships, we connect asylum-seekers with renowned organizations, like WeeCycle, The Jeffco Action Center, & I Support the Girls, who are seeking volunteers. These partnerships facilitate cultural integration and contribution to a stronger, more vibrant community for all- as well as connecting immigrants with one another. Participants also gain workforce readiness through skill-based certifications and workshops as well as 1:1 job search assistance.

Crisis to HOPE Fund

Emergency Stabilization Fund

Hope Has No Borders developed the Crisis to HOPE Fund to provide one-time, immediate, and urgent financial assistance to individuals facing critical needs that cannot be met by other organizations or social connections. The focus of these funds is to allow a flexible and immediate response to individuals in order for them to maintain stability in essential areas of life such as work, shelter, medical care, and transportation. If applicable, up to 6 hours of dedicated case management support will be approved along with award.

The Crisis to HOPE Fund (CHF)  provides essential support, assisting individuals who are confronted with sudden, critical financial challenges in key aspects of life. The CHF program is modeled after the incredible impact of local grassroots support efforts- which proved that individualized, responsive, and preventative work can infuse HOPE in times of crisis.

Volunteer

Our interconnected programs work seamlessly to support asylum seekers through each stage of their journey.  For example, imagine a family living on the street who reaches out through 211 for help. They are matched with a host through our 90-day Host Home program, providing them a safe, stable environment in which they can plan their next steps. During this time, they are also signed up for our next Asylum Support Session, beginning their path toward legal status and work authorization. In addition to immediate shelter, they receive resources like food, transportation assistance, and connections to medical care and local services. By the end of their stay, they’ve saved enough to secure an apartment of their own, and the relationship we’ve built allows us to continue supporting them.

A few months later, this family encounters an unexpected medical bill that jeopardizes their ability to make rent. Our Crisis to HOPE Fund helps bridge this gap, covering part of the expense to ensure they remain housed. After this assistance, we enroll them in our Community Service Partnership program, enabling them to give back to the community while stabilizing financially. They volunteer for up to five shifts, receiving a financial thank-you after each, which helps them make ends meet and provides them with
a local reference for their resume. Finally, when their 150 days asylum clock is complete we meet with them to help each family member apply for their work authorization, a vital step to achieving integration, independence, and stability as an asylum seeker in America.
