How long does hosting last?

The program is a maximum of 90 days. Guests are expected to use that time to seek employment, save money, and work toward independent living. At the end of 90 days, hosts and guests may choose to negotiate a separate month-to-month arrangement on their own.

Do guests pay rent?

No. Guests are not expected to pay rent. They are responsible for their own basic needs like food and clothing. Hope Has No Borders pays hosts a monthly stipend to help offset the costs of shelter and utilities.

How much is the host stipend?

Stipends range from $200–$1,000/month depending on what you and the team agree is fair for your situation. Payments are made at 30, 60, and 90 days via bank transfer.

What am I actually responsible for as a host?

Your only requirement is providing safe shelter and working utilities. Childcare, rides, and meals are not your responsibility. A dedicated case manager handles ongoing support for guests and stays in regular contact with you throughout the 90 days.

Who are the guests?

Most guests are currently Spanish-speaking asylum seekers and immigrants navigating life in the Denver area. Being bilingual is not required of hosts. Children placed in host homes are always accompanied by their adult guardian.
